Quebec city - beautiful. The old city is wonderful. You wouldn't expect the PQ to skimp on the world's next national capital, though. Wandering the streets is thoroughly enjoyable and scenic, and takes you back to a different time. Almost one quarter of the downtown area is a giant park beside the St. Lawrence Seaway - the Plains of Abraham. History is abound here.
And it's damn hot too - I can't believe how good the weather is, in early september. I had expected that summer would be over, and it would be at least cloudy and warm. But a bright blue sky, green grass, and hot weather - a better summer than what we get in Vancouver.
But what else can you say but everything? It's excellent, touristy but still pleasant, and yes you should go see it. The people here seem less concerned about speaking english - there isn't the push and pull that adds the tension to Montreal. Perhaps because the city is inextricably French, always has been and always will until us in the west decide to bomb it (just kidding). There's no competition between cultures here; this is the heart and soul of French Canada and that may never change.
