So I went to the Malolotja Nature Reserve today, waiting in the pouring rain, hitching a ride to the edge of the country, running through mud puddles, and look at what I saw - it stayed that way until noon, when I gave up, since it wasn't about to clear any time soon. And it didn't clear for the entire day. Well, you win some and you lose some. There's no point in hiking when you can't even see your hand in front of your face. As well, since it's quite high in the mountains, it's not entirely warm up here either. The country is secretive; it does not seem to want to reveal itself to me.
So, day three in the country is a lazy one - nothing more to do or see. I went and browsed at the Swazi handicrafts, and saw nothing that I liked. I also did not like the beggars who were bugging me, and I find it unfortunate that such a small country has beggars. I think they're just kids preying on tourists in their spare time.
And what else to say? The country is small but fascinating; almost completely bereft of anything interesting to do outside of going to its nature parks - the cultural stuff might last you a day, and if the weather is bad like it is now, then you're stuck back at your hostel drinking beer and listening to 80's rock with all of those not so attractive or interesting British girls, and the macho Israelis.
...Which means that it's a good time to just relax, sort the next two final days out, and wind down. But can I do it - I've been going at an inhuman pace for the entire trip, and now I have a day and a half to just..... relax. What's that? Everyone except the lunatic Canadian knows how to do it; I'll give it a shot, just this once.
